Giving back to the wonderful nurses and doctors

It was a cold day in early December, after 3 months of bed rest, when Marlo Jurkowski heard the news her son would be delivered early at 34 weeks. Emmett was born weighing only 6 pounds 3 ounces and spent the first 3 weeks of his life in the Intermediate Care Nursery (ICN) at Health Sciences Centre.

Now at just over one year old, one would never know Emmett started out his life as fragile as he did and Marlo and Ryan Jurkowski wanted to give back to the wonderful nurses and doctors in the ICN who cared for their beloved Emmett.

Rather then buy a gift for Emmett’s first Birthday, Marlo and Ryan decided to ask their family and friends for donations in lieu of gifts to be made through the Health Sciences Centre Foundation to the ICN.
