Never had a chance to say "Thank You"

You don't really know how fast your world can change until you see a road block and flashing lights and realize the victim being rushed away by ambulance is yours.  This happened to us last July.  Michael had turned 18 years old just a month before.  We just finished celebrating his high school graduation.  This wasn't supposed to be him. But it was.  We chased the ambulance to HSC and upon arriving, the staff there took such good care of about 20 of us, and showed us to our own family room.  We were scared and crying and they sent the police in to explain what happened and answer our questions, as they stabilized Michael.  When we first saw him, he was bloody and still and we were so scared.  Later that night, he was admitted to the ICU and the nurses welcomed anyone who was still there, even at 4am, as long as we visited two at a time.  They were just so knowledgeable and caring and patiently explained what was happening.  They gave us hope, that youth was the miracle factor on our side.  They took such good care of him...day after day after day, and we knew that they must do this every single day, and lose too many, but still seemed to be so dedicated and positive.  In less than a week, he was moved to a ward, and we missed this new-found family.  Five days later, he was released.  We know this would not have been possible without the dedicated nurses and doctors of HSC.  We never had a chance to say a heart felt thank you.  God bless.
