January 29, 2016 – The Health Sciences Centre Foundation is pleased to announce that the 12th annual Bringing Hope to Life Radiothon has raised $105,626 which will be put towards improving care at Manitoba’s flagship health care facility. The Radiothon was broadcast live on 680 CJOB from 9am to 6pm today at HSC Winnipeg. Guests included a number of grateful patients who shared stories of hope and healing, as well as doctors, researchers and frontline health care providers from HSC Winnipeg.
"It was great to hear about the impact people have, when they choose to support the Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg,” said Jonathon Lyon, President and CEO of the HSC Foundation. "HSC is the cornerstone of Manitoba’s health care system, and the stories of hope and healing our guests shared today let us know the difference we can make when we support this world-class facility. Thank you to our guests for sharing their stories, our sponsors for their generous support and the talented hosts at 680 CJOB for their time. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who called or made a pledge online to support the Radiothon. You are bringing hope to life for the many patients and their families who need care every day at HSC.”
Money raised through the radiothon enables the HSC Foundation to continue to improve patient care through research, advanced technology, and health care education.
Donations towards the radiothon are still being accepted. Anyone who wants to make a contribution can visit and make a donation online.
