No, you do not need to continuously enroll! You are enrolled in the program until you chose to cancel your participation in the Payroll 50/50.
To cancel your participation in the Payroll 50/50 going forward, you must cancel online at healthcarepayroll5050.com at least two weeks prior to the draw date. You can cancel at any time.
Please go to healthcarepayroll5050.com and enter the same email address you used to create your existing order. Check that email inbox and enter the verification code sent to you to sign in to your existing order. Then, use the Change Amount button. Your new order will come into effect at the end of the next enrollment period. Your existing order will continue until that time.
Draws will be done through the service provider, Funding Change, using a random number generator, approved by LGCA. One winner will be drawn on the Wednesday, following paydays, at 2:00 pm, in the office of the HSC Foundation.

For those who registered during the Monday, November 4, 2024 to Friday, November 29, 2024 period, the first draw you are eligible for is Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Your first deduction will come off your Thursday, December 12, 2024 paycheque.
The current jackpot is over $80,000! Winner takes half. Please note that the jackpot will fluctuate with number of enrollments and cancellations.
Your subscription for the Health Care Payroll 50/50 will remain pending until the enrollment period closes.
Unfortunately, you may only participate in the Health Care Payroll 50/50 if you work, study, or volunteer on the HSC campus. Please contact the HSC Foundation Director of Special Initiatives at 204-515-5618 for any further questions.
No, there are no tax receipts issued and the ticket is not tax deductible.
Proceeds support both the HSC Foundation and the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Your support of the Children’s Hospital Foundation will help purchase vital medical equipment, fund life-saving research, and offer programs that bring comfort to sick children and their families during difficult times.
Your support of the HSC Foundation will help to advance vital medical research; purchase state-of-the-art equipment to diagnose and treat patients; train the next generation of medical and research leaders; enhance HSC Winnipeg’s facilities; and implement programs to enhance the patient and family experience.
You are not eligible to participate if you are a staff or board member of the applicable Foundations, a staff member on the Shared Health Payroll HR Analytics and Reporting team, or a family member residing in the same household of the above.
Yes, per Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba, our governing body, it is a requirement to identify the winner.
Yes, it is possible to win every two weeks multiple times since draws are done on new tickets through the Payroll 50/50 lottery service provider, Funding Change, using a random LGCA-approved number generator. While the same ticket number cannot win multiple times, the same person can win multiple times.
