On January 19, 2024, the HSC Foundation raised $214,192 during its 18th-annual Innovation HSC Radiothon, presented by Maric Homes. Broadcast live from HSC Women’s Hospital, the Radiothon was a day filled with inspiration, compassion, and community spirit.

Starting at 6 AM, listeners tuned in to 680 CJOB, Power 97, and Country 99 for uplifting stories, interviews with HSC’s dedicated health care professionals, and moments that showcased the positive impact donor support has on the lives of patients and their loved ones.

“The Innovation HSC Radiothon is an incredible opportunity for our community to come together, support the invaluable work of HSC, shine a light on innovation at Manitoba’s hospital, and celebrate the spirit of giving,” says Jonathon Lyon, President and CEO, HSC Foundation. “On behalf of the Board, staff, and volunteers of the HSC Foundation, I want to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this event in support of patient care.”

Peri Maric, VP of Architecture, Maric Homes, speaks to why his company has supported the Radiothon since 2016.

Money raised through the Radiothon enables the HSC Foundation to improve patient care at HSC through the acquisition of cutting-edge medical equipment, the development of new state-of-the-art facilities, and the advancement of important research initiatives. Current fundraising priorities include Operation Excellence, the HSC Foundation’s bold multi-year, $100 million plan that will help end surgical and diagnostic wait lists while acquiring equipment that will improve patient outcomes and position HSC for sustained excellence; Innovation HSC, an annual campaign to support health care excellence at Manitoba’s hospital; purchasing hand-held medical imaging equipment that provides surgeons with high-definition, real-time blood flow visualization during procedures through the Foundation’s annual Fund-A-Need campaign; and more.
