Annual gala breaks fundraising and attendance records

The HSC Foundation is proud to celebrate the remarkable success of Savour Mexico: Wine & Food Experience, presented by Garcea Group of Companies, held on February 21. It was an unforgettable evening that brought our community together in support of innovation and patient care at HSC Winnipeg.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our guests, partners, and supporters, Savour Mexico generated more than $1.8 million, making it the most successful Savour event to date. Of that total, nearly $980,000 was raised through this year’s Fund-A-Need campaign and auction, which took an exciting and impactful turn.

In the weeks leading up to the event, donor support and matching contributions from Greg and Becky Fettes, Just Like New to You, and Wellington-Altus Private Wealth fully funded the advanced hepato-pancreato-biliary surgical equipment originally featured by the Fund-A-Need campaign and auction, sponsored by Charity Auction Group. With that critical need already met before the evening began, the Foundation turned its focus to what was next: raising additional funds to equip a new operating room for spine surgery and joint replacement. Supported by matching funds from the Manitoba Spine Program, these contributions will help ensure the space is fully equipped and ready to improve outcomes for spine patients across Manitoba, starting April 1.

Guests were inspired by the opportunity to see the state-of-the-art navigation and imaging equipment up close and to hear directly from spine surgeons about how this technology helps patients. Building on previous investments through Operation Excellence, Savour Mexico will help accelerate access to advanced surgery, ensuring more Manitobans receive specialized care close to home.
“Savour Mexico was a resonant reminder that our community cares deeply about health care and understands the Foundation’s role as a catalyst,” says Katie Hall Hursh, Board Chair of the HSC Foundation. “We bring people together. We educate. We engage. This event reflected all of that.”
Beyond the dollars raised, Savour Mexico was a celebration of shared purpose—demonstrating what’s possible when community, health care leaders, and donors come together with a common goal. Each success opens the door to new conversations, new innovations, and new opportunities to help HSC deliver tomorrow’s health care, today.

The HSC Foundation extends its deepest thanks to our partners and supporters whose generous support helped bring Savour Mexico to life, as well as our Board of Directors, Savour Committee, donors, volunteers, and staff whose dedication made this event such a resounding, record-breaking success.
Muchas gracias for helping us keep raising the bar for patient care in Manitoba!
